General

Aside from being the best tasting energy drink on the market (in our opinion of course), we have invested more time and capital than we care to admit ensuring that the ingredients are not only top quality but do what they are supposed to do, especially our nootropic profile. The days of drinking an energy drink and feeling nothing are over.

Nootropics

a. Studies have shown that taking 300-600mg of Alpha GPC daily significantly increases memory, aids in motivation levels, enhances concentration levels, and reduces the dreaded “Brain Fog”. There is also one study proving Alpha GPC can increase Growth Hormone levels.
For a short breakdown of the many benefits of Alpha GPC, along with studies, see below in "Summaries and Studies"
Studies have shown that taking Alpha GPC in the morning is highly beneficial. However, taking it 90 minutes before a workout is also very beneficial.
This is a debated topic, but many studies have been conducted in the 300mg-600mg range. We chose 400mg for our product because everyone is different and it’s a sweet spot for most.

Very similar to Alpha GPC, especially with memory, it has shown to improve learning speed, improve cognition (especially in sleep deprived states), and protection of your brain from neurological stress hormones.

a. Studies have shown that this nootropic aids with focus, users have reported it as a type of “wakeful relaxation”. It also helps with cognitive function and ironically aids with quality sleep.

Unfortunately, no one pill, or ingredient will solve our problems. Everyone’s body reacts differently, and diet is a major factor. By adding these together, not only does it cover the bases, but they can also often have synergistic effects and put you in that “flow” state where everything just feels right.
Everyone reacts differently, but customers have reported feeling the effects as quick as 2 minutes. Higher tolerance users have reported 15 minutes. If you are a caffeine & nootropic addict like our founder, it takes him 10 minutes to get the full effect.

Key Takeaways

-Improved Memory
-Increase in Motivation
-Enhanced Concentration
-Reduction in “Brain Fog”
-Potential Increase in Growth Hormone

What we need to know as consumers is that “Alpha-Glyceryl Phosphoryl Choline (αGPC) is a precursor of acetylcholine and can increase acetylcholine concentration in the brain.” [1] This is important because acetylcholine is involved with everything from memory (one of the most acknowledged benefits of Alpha GPC), concentration, reasoning, muscle control, mood regulation, and it aids in the communication between neurons, which then leads into improved brain function.

Alpha GPC aids in the following systems:
Monoaminergic Transmission: Feelings, emotions, motivation, and rewards processing. Alpha GPC has potential to aid with combating anxiety and depression, which are two emotions managed by the monoaminergic system. However, for conclusive evidence more studies are needed.
Serotonergic System: System in the brain that deals with biological functions including mood, sleep, appetite and even social behavior.
One study found that when scopolamine-induced memory impairment drugs were given to subjects (simulating dementia), Alpha GPC was able to significantly reduce the impairment [1]. However, I think more studies need to be conducted on this before a hard and fast conclusion is made. But the results are, nonetheless, thought provoking.

What is still a no brainer, according to studies, Alpha GPC has a significant improvement in memory.

“Alpha-glycerylphosphorylcholine (Alpha-GPC) and caffeine supplementation have been shown to improve mental and physical performance.” [2] Which is why we pair the two together. There is some research indicating that taking caffeine alone is effective for increasing brain activity and physical performance, however, the side effects of pure caffeine can be things like anxiety and jitters. But when paired with Alpha GPC, these side effects from caffeine have been shown not to appear and cognitive benefits are enhanced.

While we can discuss Alpha GPC ad nauseum, that last point we will make is the increase in Growth Hormone (GH). A small study was done with Alpha GPC and Non-Alpha GPC users. They concluded that Alpha GPC users produced a “44-fold increase in serum growth hormone, compared to only a 2.6-fold increase after placebo.” [3]
That alone is worth a significant investment in clinical research and studies.

I highly recommend you try our product, as we use one of the purest forms of Alpha GPC. Our blend is 98% pure, not 50%, which contains fillers and will reduce the dose required to receive the benefits from the nootropic.

Key Takeaways

-Supports Hormone Function
-Improves Athletic Performance
-Increase Dopamine Levels
-Improves Memory
-Reduce Stress

L-Tyrosine is one of the most studied amino acids, while not an essential amino acid, it however has clear evidence that it can improve multiple areas of the body and mind. L-Tyrosine has been shown to support hormone health, especially in those that suffer from hypothyroidism and lack of adrenal hormone production, such as dopamine, norepinephrine and epinephrine.

According to one study, “Increased brain dopamine availability improves prolonged exercise tolerance in the heat.” [1] Which we know L-Tyrosine increases dopamine levels based on countless studies. When the body is stressed by both internal and external stimuli, the ability to adapt and cope significantly decreases as the stimuli continues. This leads to the body burning through catecholamines.

Because L-Tyrosine produces the triad of dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine, it is important for the body to have a bioavailable fuel source of L-Tyrosine.

The aforementioned study concluded that: “The results also suggest for the first time that the availability of tyrosine, a nutritional dopamine precursor, can influence the ability to subjectively tolerate prolonged submaximal constant-load exercise in the heat.” [1]

One of the most interesting studies is the UK soccer test. Players were given L-Tyrosine or placebo in the form of a sports drink. Cognitive performance measured before the game, half time, and post-match. Players who took L-Tyrosine scored significantly higher in “Positive Vigilance Responses”, and readiness to invest physical effort (RTIPE) and mental effort (RTIME). [2]

Lastly, another study undertook testing to understand the effects of L-Tyrosine on stress levels.
They uncovered that when subjects were inoculated with intense levels of stress, the entire body was affected, including “dopamine and norepinephrine content in the pallium, hippocampus and hypothalamus were significantly reduced.” [3] However, they concluded that when L-Tyrosine was administered, it provided therapeutic effects. -Improves Sleep Quality

L-Theanine is another non-essential amino acid that is found in many things like green tea. It has a relaxing effect to it, which if paired properly with caffeine, can give you relaxed but “in the zone” type effect. One study found that “For cognitive performance, compared to placebo, reaction time and error rate were improved with CAF (Caffeine)+THE (L-Theanine)” [1]. What is most interesting about L-Theanine, is the number of studies proving its efficacy on wide array fields, including mental health.

One study found that “L-theanine has the potential to promote mental health in the general population with stress-related ailments and cognitive impairments.” [2] Within the same study, they found that L-Theanine has the ability to be neuroprotective and improve cognitive ability.

The last piece of evidence is L-Theanines’ ability to improve immunity. “Clinical and epidemiological studies have shown that L-theanine reduces immunosuppression caused by strenuous exercise and prevents colds and influenza by improving immunity.” [3] Personally, I find that L-Theanine, along with all the other nootropics, should be used daily, whether through supplementation or through natural routes. I prefer the supplementation route through my energy drinks because I am going to have an energy drink anyways during the day, why not apply them all into one. It has also been shown, especially with L-Theanine, that pairing these nootropics with caffeine has significant benefits, further adding to supplementing them through a caffeinated beverage.
